The place
You get here by climbing.
Via San Lorenzo leaves Santa Margherita and climbs through the olive terraces. Two hundred and forty metres up, the road opens and the whole Tigullio is below you: the harbour, the roofs, the headland that closes the gulf.
The dining room faces that way. When the weather allows, you eat outside on the terrace, with the glasses taking on the colour of the hour.
Thymus vulgaris — common thyme. Grows on dry, south-facing terraces, from sea level to a thousand metres.
